Hello! Welcome Back! Some of you may not know that lately, things have been really tough for me. I’ll get a little more into that on a post later in the week but for now, all you know is things have been really tough. One of my biggest forms of self care is watching TV shows. Sure there are more productive things I could do with my time but, getting invested in a TV show has always brought me a lot of comfort. I have a very hard time actually relaxing, I am always worried or stressed about something especially now. Watching TV shows are one of the only times I ever truly relax, unless it’s the plane crash episode of Grey’s Anatomy or the episode of Jack’s death in This is Us. So since it’s the start of the weekend, I wanted to share some of my current favorite TV shows with you guys. These shows are perfect for when you want to curl up under a blanket and get all snuggly and just unwind.
One of the newer shows that I have been loving is The Resident. They are only on the second season so, I’m not sure if you’ll be able to watch it if you’re overseas. If you can though, definitely check it out. For any Gilmore Girls fans, you’ll be happy to know that the main character in this show is played by the same actor who played Logan. Honestly, I wasn’t a fan of Logan so I was a little worried when starting this show. However they are two totally different characters and I don’t even register this actor as Logan anymore. This is your typical medical drama, so if you like shows like that you’ll love this one.
A Million Little Things
I checked out the show A Million Little Things on a whim about two weeks ago, I saw previews for it everywhere but just got caught up with life and never checked it out. I had a weekend where nothing was interesting me on Youtube and I was caught up on all my other shows, so I gave it a shot. I’m so glad I did. I do want to warn you guys, that it is based around a man who commits suicide even though none of his friends or family knew he was struggling with depression. I think it does a really good job at displaying the struggles of male mental health and how unknown it can go. There is a lot of drama and they are ONLY on the first season! I don’t think it glorifies suicide but, more shows the affects it has on loved one.
Jersey Shore Family Reunion
Okay, let me explain this before you start to judge me. I grew up with the original Jersey Shore. So when I saw they were bringing it back, I had to check it out. This show is such a guilty pleasure for me because I genuinely enjoy it. The cast are actually best friends and you can tell in the banter that they have with each other. Back in the day it was much more about finding random hook ups and wearing the skimpiest outfits, which is fine but just not my thing. The new version though is a lot more “grown up” while still being the classic Jersey Shore cast. Half the cast is married, or has kids, or is now living a sober lifestyle which makes it more centered around the bond between them and the jokes. If you are looking for a mindless show that will having you cracking up, I really recommend watching this one.
I don’t think I’d be a millennial female if I didn’t include Grey’s Anatomy. I have been loving Grey’s for about two years now and it will forever be one of my favorite TV shows. They honestly changed the game for medical TV drama’s if you ask me. They are currently on their 15th season, and I don’t see it ending anytime soon. I like that they’ve had such a long run but the show hasn’t become bad. This is one of those shows that really helps take our mind off things because they pack so much into one episode.
Riverdale is another almost guilty pleasure. I sometimes feel a little silly for enjoying this show as much as I do because, it can get pretty cringy. That being said, I do really love this show. I love small town settings, and the fact that this one is kind of a murder mystery as well makes it even better. It has a darker edge to it, so if you like darker shows I think you’ll really enjoy this. There are a lot of twist and turns in this show that keep you on the edge of your seat every week.
Well, there you have it those are my current favorite TV shows. Do you watch any of these shows? What are your current favorite shows? Let me know down in the comments, I love hearing from you guys and love finding new shows to add to my list. Thanks for stopping by, until next time..
Be Nice. Be Good.
