Hello! Welcome Back! I can’t believe I am writing my last post of 2018, I probably won’t get over the year ending until like the middle of February. It’s just so crazy how fast the years go as I get older. Anyways, I’m sure you’ve heard literally every other blogger, well probably every other person on the planet talk about how fast the year has gone so I won’t keep blabbering on about it.
One of my favorite things about the end of the year is that you get to reflect on everything thus far, in my previous post I reflected on my top accomplishments from the year. Today I want to reflect on some of the posts that I’ve written this year. I’ve written a lot this year, more than I ever have in my life. I usually wouldn’t consider myself a writer but, having published 53 posts I guess I can officially categorize myself as a writer. I think the best way to have myself grow as a writer is to look back on my posts from 2018. So without further ado, these are my favorite posts that I wrote during 2018.
This was one of the first posts on my page when I was transitioning into a lifestyle blog. I had written other lifestyle posts, like my dream travel destinations or my cozy room essentials but, this was deeper than anything I had written. The topic is something that I still hold dear, and try to keep as a present thought in my day to day life. My favorite take away from this post is that success is really different for every person and that’s okay. Some of my posts are more geared towards young adults, because that’s what I am and I can only write about what I know. However, this is a post that I think will resonate with you regardless of your age.
Oh wow my heart hurts for the girl who wrote this, but I’m also really f’ing proud of her. This is the post that really changed my outlook on writing as a tool for my mental health. Honestly, looking back on it now I think it’s safe to say that this post really jump started my healing process. If you are feeling stuck or you don’t know where to go next, I would definitely give that post a read. From the response I received back in July when I posted it, a lot of you have gone through this feeling as well.
My 24th Birthday post… this is actually my third most viewed post of the year. That’s not why it’s one of my favorite though. This post means so much too me because I was able to finally see the growth I was making. I was able to write down 24 different things that I had already learned that year. It makes me really proud and really grateful that I am able to look back on that post whenever I want and give myself a reminder of how well I’m doing instead of having to look for that validation from someone else. While I did write this in the perspective of a young adult, there are lessons in here that I believe every age group can learn from, or even just be reminded of.
The first post in my newest series, Simply Reflecting. Simply Reflecting is a series where I reflect and, essentially give my two cents that no one asked for in on some of the podcast episodes that have really resonated with me. The episode that I reflect on in this post was the first podcast episode that I ever listened too and had it really hit home. Honestly, think I cried the first time I listened too it. Body image is something I’ve struggled all my life with so to hear these positive words be spoken about loving your body it really touched me. There are some really shocking facts in this post about the diet industry that I really recommend you all checking out.
My second installment of the Simply Reflecting series, clearly I love writing that series. This one as I believe I mentioned in the original post has a similar message to the first reflection I did. I would say that the biggest difference is in the first post of this series, you’re learning body positivity from someone in the nutrition field and in this post you’re hear from a regular girl who through her struggles has become a self love coach. I’m biased but I think both are great and, I had so much fun writing these posts. My mind was just absolutely flooded with ideas. I can’t wait to dive back into this series in the new year!
I’m going to be completely honest with you guys, the reason this post is in here is mainly because it’s about my Justin Timberlake concert this past June. That in and of itself makes it one of my favorite posts, because that was probably my biggest highlight and for some god forsaken reason I forgot to mention it in my last post! However, I know music has saved me countless times and the underlying message in the post is about how much music can impact us and help us get through daily struggles.
My first fashion post ever and you guys seemed to love it, this is my fourth most viewed post from the year. It’s actually a real confidence booster that you all loved this post so much, since it was so out of my comfort zone. In the post I touch on the struggle it was for me to get to a point where I feel good about myself and my outfits. I have a bunch of different outfit choices that hopefully will give you inspiration whether you are plus size or not. I also speak on how important it is that you dress in a way that makes you feel confident. I believe this post includes a lot of tools that you can hopefully take with you when you go on a little shopping spree with all the Christmas money you received.
If you’ve ever been in a toxic relationship or friendship, I really recommend this one. I talk all about the progress I had made in healing from the toxic friendship I was in. I really thought that when I was going through all the posts from this year, that reading this one would open up some old wounds that I had. However thanks to the patience and kindness that I have worked hard on giving myself I am able to see that my heart is 100% completely healed. Let me know if that would be something you’d like me to write about in 2019.
Well guys we have made it too the end, these are my favorite posts that I’ve written this past year. I am proud of everything I write otherwise I wouldn’t post it but, for one reason or another whether it be the writing style, the message or the imagery these 8 posts really stood out to me. Down in the comments please link me to the post you are most proud of from this year, I’ll be sure to read all of them. I hope to see all of you on this journey with me in 2019. Thanks for stopping by, until next year…
Be Nice. Be Good.
