Beauty Subscription: Boxycharm Unboxing

Hey Guys! Happy Monday! Hope you’ve all had a great weekend. Today is going to be the first installment of a new series I’d like to do on my blog. For a while now I’ve wanted to take part in a beauty subscription box. The idea of getting a handful of beauty products each month has always been appealing to me.

I finally bit the bullet and decided to go with is Boxycharm. With Boxycharm, you get 4-5 FULL SIZE products for $21.00 USD with the value of the box regularly being over $100. I think that’s absolutely incredible, because personally I’d rather pay a little more but know I’m getting full size prestige products. So without further ado, let’s jump into what I got in my January Box!

(disclaimer : this is not a review post, some of these products I have yet to try others I’ve used once. If I have used the product, I will give you my first impression but I have not used any product enough to give a full review on it)

What I Received

When you first open the box, you get a card that has the theme of the box on it and all the information you’ll need on the products you received. This month’s box is Boxy and Chill which I thought was adorable. This month I received 5 full size products covering every area of beauty, skincare, haircare and makeup. I will be giving you the retail price of each product and then adding up the total value of the box at the very end, and trust me it’ll shock you.

Briogeo Leave in Conditioner

The first product I noticed in my box was the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Leave in Conditioner Spray, and it retails for 16.00 USD. So, confession time I knew some of the products we were getting this month. The Beauty Youtuber KathleenLights does a video every month on her Boxycharm unboxings. This month she got to help pick out some of the products included in the box, this product being on of them. If you guys read my post where I talked about how I care for my colored hair, you’ll have seen that I’ve been loving products from Briogeo so I was really excited to receive this in the box. This is the only product that isn’t technically full size BUT it’s still large enough for me to get a long usage out of it. I used this product for the first time yesterday after I showered and so far I’m enjoying it. My hair doesn’t feel weighed down, and it’s less staticky then normal for this time of year which I’m very happy about.

The next two items in the box are the Ofra Liquid Lipstick in Havana Nights (20.00 USD), which was in collaboration with KathleenLights and the Starlooks Luxe Longwear Eye Pencil (19.00 USD) in Brown. I’ve not tried the liquid lipstick and if I’m honest I don’t think it’s something I’ll get much use out of. I’m more of a creamy nude lipstick kind of girl. The brown eyeliner on the other hand, I’ll get a ton of use out of. When I don’t do my usual winged eyeliner, I will tight line my upper lash line with a brown pencil. It’ll be the perfect addition to my makeup collection. I’ve used the pencil once over the weekend and I really enjoyed it, it was creamy and pigmented but didn’t smear everywhere. I will keep using it and get back to you guys on how I feel about it over on my Instagram stories.

Tarte eyeshadow

I was blown away when I saw we got this product, a full size Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow Palette! (36.00 USD) There were a couple different variations of this palette that went out, I received Volume 3. I have used this palette twice so far, once over the weekend and then again today and both days I couldn’t stop admiring my eyeshadow. My only complaint with this palette is that it has just one matte shade so you can’t really do a whole look with it. I have so many eyeshadow palettes that even if I could do a whole look with it I would still dip into other palettes. Out of all the shade’s in this palette I only see myself not getting use out of one, simply because I don’t typically wear shimmery dark eyeshadow, but hey maybe I’ll surprise myself.

Last product we received were two Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mask. (24.00 USD/ 12.00 USD each) So remember earlier when I said I knew what we were getting in this box? These face masks were a big reason as to why I finally decided to subscribe to this beauty box. I treated myself to this face mask back around my birthday and honestly, it was such a luxurious experience. If you have dry skin, this mask will be your best friend. I plan on chucking these bad boys into the fridge ASAP and giving myself a full spa evening soon.

Boxycharm January Box

Round Up

That was everything I received in my January BoxyCharm Box, the overall value of this box is 115.00 USD! That is absolutely insane to me, you only pay 21 dollars and get so much! I’m so glad that I finally gave in and decided to subscribe to this box. You can get your own box here*! What’s your favorite product I received? Do you subscribe to any beauty boxes? If so which one’s? Let me know down in the comments, I love chatting with you all! Thanks for stopping by, until next time…

  2. This looks like such an amazing box! And such amazing value!!! I don’t think we can get this one here, unfortunately. I really like Kathleen so it’s great to see some of her favourites and her products in here. I’ve wanted to try Havana Nights for so long! And a full Tarte palette?! What?! I can’t wait to see more of these! x

    1. I think they do beauty boxes over in the UK but not sure of what brands. Honestly, boxycharm might ship to the U.K. but i’m not sure. i’m shocked at everything i got as well! x

  4. Unfortunatly, I’m allergic to just about 99% of makeup, so I’m rocking the (almost) nude look, with just a tiny bit of eyeliner and mascara. The box looks amazing though, and I’m soooo envious.

      1. I have unfortunatly already tried hypoallergenic makeup and it’s still no go. But it’s been so long since I wore makeup other than liner and mascara, so I’m sure I would feel weird putting it on again 😀

  5. This is such an amazing box! I can’t belive you got a full sized tarte palette, that’s so good. I love using subscription boxes as you get to try out so many new things. This box looks really great, great post xx

  6. This is such a great subscription box! I love that the savings are amazing. I’ve been trying out new skincare products and I really like the look of those masks. I’ve heard good things about the Tarte face mask and I hope I can get it soon! Lovely haul and review Mich ❤

    1. If you want to treat yourself, this face mask is great. i used one last night and noticed how much better my makeup applied this morning because my skin was hydrated from the mask. thanks for the sweet comment taiwo💕

  7. That’s pretty good that it’s actual full sized products for 21, that’s amazing! I’ve not heard of this subscription box, but it definitely seems like one of the best ones I’ve heard. I also love the lil card you get, that is a adorable one <3 The eyeshadow palette looks stunning omg! What a great box of treats 🙂

    1. I think the little card is great! tells you all the information on the product which can be helpful if you’re a beginner! the eyeshadow is as pretty as it looks. i’ve not worn any other palette since i got it x

  8. These are my favorite posts to read on. Ive had other subscription boxes and love unboxing them and seeing what goodies I got. I can’t believe you got a full size product and the cost for this subscription box makes it totally worth it. Will be giving this a try, thank you!

  9. I really enjoyed reading this post! I was signed up to a subscription box here in the UK for a while, but they’re normally a mix of makeup and skincare items, and I can’t use skincare so it’s a waste of money for me. They’re never full size, either! This one, on the other hand, looks brilliant. The fact that you get branded makeup like Tarte for the price of $21 is AMAZING!
