Hey guys! Hope you’re all doing well! It’s been a little while since I’ve spoken about beauty on my page. I started out as a beauty blogger and while I’m not solely one anymore, I like to keep that element on my page. Today’s kind of a combination post, I wanted to share some beauty products that I recently picked up & it just so happened that my March Boxycharm showed up the same day. I’ll first show you what I got in my Boxycharm and then the other items I picked up on my own. So without further ado, let’s jump into it!
What is Boxycharm?
If you’re new to my page or didn’t read my January Boxycharm unboxing, then you may have no clue what Boxycharm is. Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription box. It costs 21.00 USD (plus tax) and you get 4-5 FULL SIZE beauty products. With each box you get a range of prestige items from haircare, skincare and cosmetics. In the few months that I’ve been receiving Boxycharm, each box has had a value of $100 or more. Currently, Boxycharm is only available for all US & Canada territories, but they are working on worldwide availability.
March Box Unboxing
The theme of this month’s box was La Vie En Rose. (anyone who knows french, feel free to translate that to me) We received 5 FULL SIZE products, which is incredible!
First product is, the Wander Beauty Lift Off Purifying & Brightening Peel Off Mask. This product retails for 34.00 USD, so you’ve already gotten more than you paid for with just ONE product. I’m a huge fan of peel off masks, so I was very excited to see we received this. I’ve been slacking on my skincare routine lately so, I have not had a chance to try this out just yet. Keep an eye over on my Instagram Stories though to be updated on how I feel about it!
Next product I noticed in the box was the Powder & Soft Glow brush set from Moda. This set retails for 29.99 USD, which das esspensive for two brushes. That being said, I absolutely love the brushes and have been using them everyday since I got them. My fellow white as paper girls (and boys) I found your new fav bronzer brush. The powder brush from this set does an incredible job at defusing the product. The soft glow brush gives you a lighter highlight than I’m use to, but I’m kind of enjoying it. It gives more of a glow to your whole cheek instead of just the tops of your cheek bone which I’m into at the moment.
Third product in the box is the Cover FX Perfector Face Palette. This product retails for 45.00 USD. I’ve never had a product from Cover FX before, so I was really excited to test this out. I got the one for light to medium skin, but depending on your skin tone you may have gotten a deeper one. I haven’t used every shade in the palette just yet but, I’ve been enjoying the ones I have tried. The bronzer is the perfect undertone to be used as a 2-in-1 bronzer/contour, and the blush is the right mix of pink&peach to really compliment my skin tone.
Last two products we received are the Ofra Liquid Lipstick in Monaco (20.00 USD) & the Appeal Cosmetics Liquid Eyeshadow in Rose Gold. (21.00 USD) Both of these didn’t really excite me that much, if I’m honest. For starters, the Ofra Liquid Lipstick is a metallic, and I don’t do metallic lips. I may try to make it work in the center of the lip, or I might just give it to a friend I haven’t decided just yet. Now onto the liquid eyeshadow, I don’t know who named this product but dis ain’t rose gold… Other than that, I can’t really judge this product because I haven’t used it. Again, keep an eye on my insta stories for an update.
That wraps up everything I received in my Boxycharm this month. When I added up the overall value of this box, I was BLOWN AWAY. This box has a 150.00 USD value, and you only pay 21.00 (+tax) that’s absolutely absurd to me! Now, onto the other goodies I picked up at Ulta.
Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty
It’s been a while since I went a bit hog wild in Ulta, and with their 21 Days of Beauty going on it was the perfect time. For my international readers, 21 Days of Beauty is 21 flash sales up to 50% off but they only for one day. In this event they also have something called Hot Buys, which are products on sale for the whole 21 days. Half the products I picked up were apart of the sale and half weren’t, but I just had to share everything I got with you guys!
First product I picked up apart of that 21 Days of Beauty Sale was the Becca Aqua Luminous Foundation in Porcelain. This product regularly retails for 44.00USD but I got it for 26.00USD. I’ve been enjoying lighter coverage foundations for the past few months, so this was the perfect time for me to try this product. My only complaint with this product is…I don’t know anyone that describes themselves as porcelain to be this dark. I can make the product work by balancing things out with some concealer, so I will continue to use it. However, add this product to the ever growing list of product where the lightest shade is too dark. My friend Sophie actually just wrote a post that sums up my frustration with this issue.
This next pick up honestly shows that I live in some dream land where I think I’m richer than I actually am. I picked up the Lancôme Advanced Génifique Hydrogel Melting Mask. It was buy two get one free, so I thought I was getting a good deal but really they’re still 15.00 USD for a single sheet mask. That being said, it did feel very luxurious and if you have a special event coming up it’s worth the splurge.
This next product is the only affordable product in this whole post but, it’s also one of the best. That just goes to show you, while buying expensive stuff can be nice every now and then you can find really good products on a budget. My local Ulta just started to carry Milani in stores, which I was very excited about. I’ve heard a few Youtuber’s talk about the new mascara’s from Milani, so when I saw I had access to them I knew I needed to try on. I grabbed Milani Most Wanted Lashes, which retails for 10.00 USD. I’m super high maintenance when it comes to my lashes, I’m always combining two mascara’s. However, I could use this product on its own an be a happy camper. It makes my lashes long, separated, voluminous and black. I predict to be buying this mascara for years to come.
If you’re still with me, you’re in for a treat because I saved the best for last. The last product I picked up was the Stila Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Kitten. This product retails for 24.00 USD which is expensive, and honestly why I put off buying it for so long. However, pay day was last week and I bit the bullet. I’m so glad I did because I’ve worn it literally every day since I got it. It adds just enough shine to my lids without me having to put a lot of work in. This is a very large claim that I’m about to make but, I think it might be my favorite product that I own and I’ve had it less than a week. That’s how good it is!
