Hey guys! It’s that time again where I y’all you through what I got in this months Boxycharm! I sound like a broken record at this point so i’m gonna breeze past the logistics quick for any new readers. Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription service, it costs $21.00 and you receive 4-5 full size products. I’ve been doing this post about every other month since the beginning of 2019 so I have plenty of other unboxing for you to check out. They’ll also have more information about Boxycharm as a company, so be sure to check them out if you’re looking for more information.
Every month there is a theme that goes along with the type of products you received. This month’s theme was Au Natural. I received my box about a week ago, so I’ve used each product enough to give you guys a mini review about the products I received. Time to unbox!
Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask $35.00
The first product I got in my box the Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask. Packed with a bunch of good things like Avocado, Omega Fatty Acids, Passionfruit Acid and more. It’s essentially a green juice for your face. One of the things I look for most in masks is that they spread evenly and easily, especially on a mask like this that I apply on my whole face. This mask ticked that box and was super easy to apply and to remove. On the bottle it did mention that you might feel a slight tingle, but that was just suppose to be the mask working. I however, did not feel any type of tingle. That’s not a good or bad thing, but it’s something to keep in mind if a tingling masks kind of worries you.
This is the only product that I haven’t tried enough to put my full stamp of approval on because you need to use a mask for a couple weeks to really see if it’s working. What I can say is that, I didn’t hate it. My skin didn’t feel overly tight nor did this mask cause me to break out so it is something I will continue to use.
Luxie Gaea 3 Piece Brush Set $30.00
The next product I got in my box is a 3 piece brush set from Luxie. It included a foundation brush (which I used to apply the mask I just spoke about), a large blending brush and a small shadow brush. The handles of these brushes are made from recycled wood which is amazing. I’ve used each brush and they perform really well. This is the second set of Luxie brushes that we’ve received in a Boxycharm and I’ve yet to be disappointed by them. Visually the brushes are gorgeous, they have a light pink handle with a gold barrel. I will definitely continue to use these brushes.
Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water Wipes $17.00
Writing the review for these Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water Wipes honestly hurts my heart a little bit. I was really excited when I saw this in my box because Kathleen Lights has raves about these. I had really high hopes going into it but sadly, I wasn’t super impressed. For starters, you only get 10 wipes in a pack and it’s $17.00 which is incredibly expensive. I over looked it because of the overall value of this box. Second, I don’t know if I’m just use to like really wet cotton pads to remove my eye makeup but, these seemed pretty dry.
I’ve used them three times, two times with my everyday makeup and once with heavier makeup and each time I felt like I was struggling to remove my eye makeup. They didn’t burn my eyes which was nice but for the price, I don’t want to have to struggle that much to remove my makeup. I’ll absolutely use these up but I would not repurchase or even recommend. You’re better off with so Bioderma and a cotton pad in my opinion.
Butter London Natural Goddess Palette $32.00
I’ll be honest, I need another neutral eyeshadow palette like I need a hole in the head BUT even still, this one from Butter London did not disappoint. I think this is a great palette for beginners because it has basic shimmer shades, your deep brown for definition and then a pop of blue for some fun. This again, is not a palette I would personally buy but that’s simply because I don’t need it. It’s really great quality and creates beautiful eye looks. If you’re in need of a small neutral palette and want to splurge a little I do think this is a good one to buy. However, you can get a palette from Morphe, with triple the amount of shadows for about the same price.
Ofra Liquid Lipstick Santorini $20.00
I really need to check if I can change the type of lip products I receive because this is the third Ofra liquid lipstick that I’ve received and won’t wear. It’s not a big deal because I’m still getting my money’s worth with all the other products but worth noting. I’m not saying that Ofra’s liquid lipsticks are bad, because they aren’t. I just personally don’t like liquid lipsticks or really matte lipstick in general. The color I got is a really pretty hot magenta color that would look beautiful with a simple winged eyeliner. As pretty as that look sounds, I’ll be passing this product onto one of my friends.
When adding up all the products, you get an overall value of $134.00! That’s absolutely insane since you only pay $21.00 a month. I can’t stress this enough, if you can get boxycharm and you’re looking for a beauty subscription service. This is the best one out there. While there were a couple misses with this month’s box, I’m really impressed by what I receive. OH! I almost forgot, we also got a coupon for a $10.00 Elemis facial at a participating Ulta Beauty Skinbar. I’ll have to look into if I can redeme this!
