Hey Loves! Hope you’re all doing well! It is that time again, my August BoxyCharm unboxing! If you’re new here let me give you my 60 second pitch on what BoxyCharm is.
BoxyCharm is a beauty subscription that costs $21.00USD a month and you get 4-5 FULL SIZE high end/ luxury products. Ranging from makeup, skincare and haircare. Each month the box has a value of over $100.00USD. If you’d like to see what I got in past boxes you can see all my previous unboxings here.
Alright, now that all the logistics are out of the way let’s get into the good stuff. This is what I received in my August Box.
Tarte Big Ego Mascara
The first product that I noticed in my box was the Tarte Cosmetics Big Ego Mascara and it retails for $23.00 USD. First off, I love the packaging of this product. I had been debating for a couple months if I wanted to purchase it myself, and the packaging was the biggest selling point for me. I’m ultimately glad I didn’t purchase it since, one I got it in my box and two it’s not my favorite mascara. The wand reminds me of the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara but it doesn’t give my lashes any volume.
I most likely wouldn’t repurchase this product when I run out but I will continue to use it. I find it to be most ideal for when I’m wearing winged liner and just want my lashes to blend in. It’s not the worse mascara I’ve ever used, but I honestly don’t see the hype behind this product.
Becca Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder
When I heard we were getting this powder in our box, I was so excited. I’ve seen a lot of Beauty Influencers talk about this Becca Hydra Mist Powder and they were saying how they’ve never used a powder like this one. It retails for $39.00 USD which is nearly double the price of the box!
I’ve tried this powder a few times since receiving it and I can attest, this is unlike anything i’ve ever used. This powder feels cold and wet, like you’re actually putting water on your face but it’s completely dry. The first time I used it I had to check that it didn’t actually make my brush wet. I was blown away when I realized my brush was totally dry. I don’t think my explanation of this product will ever do it justice, because it’s so unique.
Pur Glitterally Pink Brightening Peel Off Mask
I was really surprised when I received this product because it’s fairly new to the market. Pur Cosmetics did a range that was in collaboration with Barbie, and this mask was apart of it. Retailing for $20.00, this mask is HOT pink and full of glitter.
I’ve used this mask twice and, I really enjoy it so far. I have so many masks that I never end up using one enough to really see the effects of it, but I have yet to meet a peel off mask I don’t like. The one thing I dislike about this mask thought, is the glitter that gets left behind when you peel it off. It’s not a big deal because it comes off with some water but it would be nice if that didn’t happen. Overall it’s probably my favorite product in the box.
Wander Beauty Glow Ahead Illuminating Oil
This is my second product ever from Wander Beauty, and honestly I’m still trying to understand why this brand is so expensive. It’s a nice oil to put on before makeup to add a little bit of a glow but it’s nothing revolutionary. This product retails for $42.00 USD which seems over priced if you ask me!
It’s a nice light pink color that has shimmer within the product. I do enjoy it being light pink since I have a pink undertone it works well with my skin tone, but I have other products that bring more luminosity to my skin. Again, like the mascara I’ll keep it in my collection and I’ll use it because it’s getting great reviews but I probably won’t repurchase it.
The last product I got in my box was a set of false lashes by Lashaholic in the style Instaglam and they retail for $14.99 USD. I don’t have much to say about these because I don’t typically wear false lashes. They’ll be a nice thing to have on hand because I’d never pay that much for a pair of lashes. I hoping that with how minimally I’ll be wearing them that, they’ll last a while. If I’m honest I don’t know why I received lashes because I didn’t see them as an option in either variation for the August box on BoxyCharm’s Instagram. Anyways, I’m a tad bit disappoint because like I said, I don’t wear false lashes so this product is a bust for me.
That wraps up what I got in my August BoxyCharm. While there were a couple products I wasn’t crazy about, the overall value of the box is $139.00 USD. Which like I say everything, is absolutely incredible considering the price of the box!
Have you tried any of these products? What was your favorite item that I received? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for stopping by, until next time…
